Cindy Moses has been a Washington area resident since 1959 when her family moved to Bethesda from Pennsylvania. After graduating from Walter Johnson High, Cindy continued her education at the University of Maryland. During her senior year, she served as President of the 800+ member Terrapin Ski Club which sponsored club trips to Vermont, Maine, and Colorado. Cindy furthered her studies in Social Anthropology, earning a MA at the University of Virginia and then completing an additional three years of graduate study at the University of Connecticut. Despite affiliations with three major universities, Cindy remains a die-hard Terrapins fan with season tickets to both football and basketball.
Following graduate school, Cindy volunteered as a docent at the National Museum of African Art, part of the Smithsonian Institute. She entered the real estate profession in 1983 at the urging of her husband, Bob, an attorney specializing in real estate and business law. Today, Cindy leads The Moses Home Team, a highly specialized team dedicated to exceeding their clients' expectations during the home buying and selling process. The Team has a sub-specialty in selling bank-owned, government-owned, and other “distressed” properties. She also is a partner in Moses Development and Management which builds high-end modular homes and manages investment real estate.
As the daughter of two high school teachers, education played an important role in Cindy's professional development. From the early stages of her career, she sought to increase her knowledge of the real estate field by obtaining her GRI (Graduate, REALTORS® Institute) and CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) professional designations (earned by less than 2% of REALTORS® nationwide.) Subscribing to the belief that one never fully masters something until they can teach it to others, Cindy regularly teaches professional development and skills courses for her company. Over the years, she has earned a Broker's license in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC, the e-PRO® certification, and the nationally recognized professional designations of Certified Relocation Professional, Accredited Buyer's Representative, and Certified Distressed Property Expert. Cindy has served on numerous professional committees, both at her local Association of REALTORS® and for the Residential Sales Council of the National Association of REALTORS®.
Following a life-long dream, Cindy and Bob purchased an 1882 farmhouse and spent two years completing its restoration. With the exception of their current home, every home they've owned has been a "fixer-upper" and Cindy has gained valuable experience working on these remodeling and restoration projects. She seems to be a magnet for stray cats and has assisted several clients with pet adoptions. In her spare time, Cindy attends the Washington Opera, gardens, skis, rollerblades, and cheers for her beloved Terps.
